Startup Preschool with Startup Migrants in Trondheim

Want to start a business in Norway? Startup Preschool comes to Trondheim.

We have an upcoming  Startup Preschools for internationals who would like to start a business in Norway. From 08-10 of September at  DIGS in Trondheim – in partnership  with 6AM.

The preschool is organised together with Startup Migrants and is co-financed by NTNU for you! 

The preschool is a 3-day intensive course in entrepreneurship. You get to know the local startup ecosystem – learn to develop your ideas into a business idea and get help to realize them. During the last two years Startup Migrants have educated more than a 1000 people – and helped more than 80 start a limited company.

The Startup Preschool is free of charge and starts at 16.00 on Friday and ends on Sunday at 14.00.

DION Annual Report 2022-2023

DION is happy to share with you our annual report DION_annual_report_2022_2023.pdf !

Our board period has been incredibly active, and we are proud to present the highlights:

Over the past year, DION hosted and co-hosted a total of 49 events across all three NTNU campuses. We also assisted in 28 inquiries and 31 requests regarding event proposals for temporary scientific employees at NTNU. Moreover, we were able to fund 11 grants and gave 13 presentations across several faculties to make DION more visible and accessible to temporary scientific employees.

Transferable Skills Day workshops (Trondheim)

DION is pleased to invite you to our Transferable Skills Day in cooperation with NIRS, Startup Migrants and Gibberish on 17th of March!

Transferable skills are the skills that you take with you from your PhD or PostDoc into your next career stage, whatever it will be, academia, industry, startup, public sector or something else! Transferable skills include for example the ability to clearly and efficiently communicate, present and pitch your ideas to others, solve unexpected problems, or work well in teams. Throughout the Transferable Skills Day we will offer you a few workshops, which will help you to develop these skills further and to uncover the skills that make you unique. 

Pitch your research workshop

  • The first event of the Transferable Skills Day – Pitch your research workshop! Nicolai Strøm-Olsen, CEO of Startup Migrants, will tell you why it is important to be able to disseminate your research effectively. Nicolai will provide you with practical tips and tricks. In an interactive way, you can directly apply your new knowledge and get valuable feedback!
    As it will be an interactive workshop, you should be willing to share your research with the others. Please also notify your supervisor. If you are not comfortable/not ready/not allowed to share your research, you can also pitch your favorite paper!

    The workshop will take place in a breakfast seminar format.

       When: 17th of March, 8.30 – 10.30

       Where: Gløshaugen, Trondheim (exact location will be provided after conformation)

Effective Communication

  • DION in cooperation with NIRS & Gibberish, improv theatre in Trondheim, is pleased to invite you to the second event of the Transferable Skills Day! In this workshop Effective Communication you will learn how to efficiently communicate in general, talk to people without being afraid of doing mistakes, tell stories related to academia (or also not!) and learn how to fail. In an interactive way, you can directly apply your new knowledge and get valuable feedback! 

      When: 17th of March, 15.30 – 20.00
