We are happy to announce our cabin trip for temporary scientific employees at NTNU Gjøvik. Please, register here: https://nettskjema.no/a/411223 However, before that, there area few important things to know.
What we cover:
- Accomodation. We book the cabins and pay for them.
- Dinner on the day of arrival. Since we are going on Friday, we will follow the tradition and have a taco-fredag. There will be a vegeratian/vegan option if needed.
- Coffee, tea, milk, snacks, cookies, some soft drinks.
- Breakfast. We will pay for and prepare breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. You are welcome, however, to bring your own food for breakfast if you want.
What we do not cover:
- Transportation. You need to get to the cabin by your own means. It can be easily reached by bus and train (as it is next to the Kongsvoll train station) or by car. The cost of bus and train tickets is around 300 nok in total each way (~600 nok in total for the return trip both ways). The cabin is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/uGFUfwc9zX8dC3yj9
- Things you need to bring (see below)
- Any liabilities. Please be aware that during the cabin trip, there is a potential for accidental damage or breakage of property. Attendees are responsible for the proper use and care of all cabin facilities and amenities. We will not assume liability for any accidental damage, breakage, or loss of personal belongings that may occur during the trip. We kindly request that all participants exercise care and responsibility when using cabin facilities and amenities.
What you need to bring:
- Drinking water for two days (very important). There is no drinking water at the cabin, although there is a shower.
- Towel.
- Duvet Cover.
- Pillowcase.
- Bedsheet.
- Appropriate Clothing and footwear.
- Personal Higiene products.
- Food:
- Lunch that you can take on a hike.
- Snacks if you want them.
- Dinner for Saturday afternoon. It could be a frozen pizza, for instance.
- If you want to bring alcohol, it is perfectly okay from our side.

Details:
There are only 14 beds, so places are limited. We still encourage you to register, as if there is more people that want to join, we will organise another trip and give priority to those that could not join this time.
We are planning a hike on Saturday the 1st of June. If you want to join us, please bring appropriate clothing. If you do not intend to join the hike, you are still welcome to come.
Feel free to bring along any board games!
After our stay, we must clean the cabin and leave it like when we found it. If you come, you agree to help in this task.
The event is intended for temporary scientific employees mainly, but not exclusively. Thus, students and permanent staff can also join if there are any free spots not taken by temporary staff.
Confirming your registration
Due to the limited availability of beds, a temporary deposit of 200 nok will be required from participants who get a spot. The deposit will be fully refunded to the participants on the first day of the trip if they attend or cancel in time. More instructions will be given to the participants who get a spot, so no deposit is necessary until we notify you.
