Diversity Workshop at NTNU (Trondheim)

We are pleased to announce a half-day event on 6 December, exploring and discussing diversity in NTNU employment, with public presentations by NTNU’s diversity advocates, followed by a closed workshop for employees engaged in issues of diversity at the university. DION highly recommends your participation.

Presentations (open to public)

Date: 06 Dec 2024, Friday
Time: 14:00-15:30
Place: Kalvskinnet Akrinn A 001, Trondheim; refreshments provided

Online: Teams link (no registration required)

What does diversity mean for NTNU employees in everyday worklife? What kinds of diverse experiences are being supported and promoted by the university, and which are being left behind? How can we bridge various diversity efforts in order to improve visibility, inclusion and awareness at NTNU?

Come listen to 5 diversity groups/advocates at NTNU speak on their respective endeavours to improve working conditions for employees and their perspectives on what needs to be addressed. The diversity issues raised concern immigration, people of colour, people of Sami background, LGBTQ+, women and gender diversity, and people with disabilities.

Workshop (closed to applicants)
Time: 15:45-17:00
Place: Kalvskinnet Akrinn U201
Deadline to register: 8 November

In addition to the above-described open event, there will be a closed workshop right afterwards for those who are actively engaged with diversity issues in NTNU employment. The goal of the workshop is to generate dialogue, activate small-scale changes if/where possible, and connect with others interested in the same issues; we do not anticipate resolving large-scale issues within such a small time-frame, but rather aim to bring various efforts together in the same room.

DION will be there too. There will be representatives from these organizations at NTNU that promote diversity: NIRS (NTNU International Researcher Support), Sami Network [Innsida page under development], LGBTQ+ Network, WiS EPT (Women in Science), and INCLUDE Network for Employees with Disabilities.

Spots are limited, so please apply to participate through this link: https://forms.gle/sMkyJm8jqGvVjEMp8
