All PhD candidates, postdocs, and other temporary scientific employees at any NTNU campus are eligible to apply for a grant (up to 2000 NOK) to cover expenses related to organizing activities that create opportunities for PhD students and postdocs to network, learn, and enrich their experience. Please note that master’s degree students are NOT eligible. If there are applicants from Trondheim, Gjøvik, and Ålesund, DION will prioritize granting one to each of the three cities. The total fund pool for this grant call is 10,000 NOK.
DION will give preference to applications that are targeted at an open audience. Applications for the exclusive benefit of one department or faculty will still be accepted, but applications accessible to all DION members will be prioritized.
Rules:
1. The deadline for sending the application is 23:59 CET on September 6, 2024. DION board members will evaluate applications. You can apply via this form by filling out all the mandatory fields.
2. Funding should be used until October 15, 2024, 23:59 CET.
3. The organizers are expected initially to cover the event’s costs and then seek reimbursement from DION. Unfortunately, prior funding is not given.
Please note that the receipts and all reimbursement documents should be submitted to DION two weeks after the event takes place. Reimbursement of the costs is not guaranteed if it comes later.
4. In cases of grant approval, the organizers should promote DION by making it a co-host of the Facebook event or other advertisements. A DION board member will be assigned to each approved application, and the organizers will liaise with them about the event.
5. Please note that the maximum amount DION can reimburse is 2000 (two thousand) NOK. If the overall cost of the event exceeds 2,000 NOK, it is the organizer’s sole responsibility to get extra funding from other sources. Any requests for more than 2000 NOK from DION will be automatically declined.
6. DION does not fund any alcohol products for events. If any part of the cost is allocated to equipment (such as board games, etc.), please note that these items will become DION assets for future use.
We also highly encourage those interested to apply as a group, although individual grant applications remain welcome.
